About

Searching for its commitment to and active relation with society, the Vitória College of Law cooperates with public and private, national and foreign institutions and companies for the development of various activities through:

(a) Partnerships of Education Cooperation.

(b) Partnerships of Scientific and/or Academic Cooperation

(c) Cooperative Partnerships for the development of activities of general interest.

Our commitment to society can be verified through our policy of relationships, which is under the responsibility of the NRI – International and Institutional Affairs Center – which seeks to fund, support or operationalize academic and scientific programs as well as professional clinical programs together with organizations and institutions of various areas and of different parts of the world.

As for international affairs, NRI’s work aims at:

• Helping the Academic Board and the coordinators of the Undergraduate, latosensu, Master’s, Research and Extension programs with the implementation and development of a policy of cooperation and international culture;

• Supporting the FDV faculty in search for professional development through partnerships with international institutions and professors;

• Supporting the inclusion of FDV professors, students and former students in the international academic field by creating or announcing opportunities or helping them with existing ones;

• Funding and providing help for the hosting of international events at FDV and supporting the participation in activities overseas, as well as hosting the students and international visitors’ welcome reception.

As far as institutional affairs are concerned, NRI aims at creating opportunities for academic and professional development of FDV students and researchers. In addition to that, it aims at keeping a network with various institutions, organizations and companies in order to strengthen all its academic areas of study.

Exchange Program

FDV Students

Every semester FDV issues a public notice on the selection of students interested in the Institution Exchange Program to be held on the following semester. All the students can apply for the available vacancies. At the moment, we have three international Universities as partners welcoming undergraduate students: in Spain, Castilla University – La Mancha and, in Portugal, both Coimbra University and New Lisbon University. In these institutions, FDV students do not have any costs with registration or tuition. However, students must pay for additional costs such as housing, food, transportation, etc.

The criteria used for the selection of applicants will be their GPA, their engagement with extra activities (study groups, workshops, research, tutoring, seminars, congresses, article publication, extension activities, etc.), and their knowledge of foreign languages. Each extra activity has a different score, according to the chart attached to each public notice.

Students from Partner Institutions

Students from partner institutions that are part of the undergraduate mobility program must get in touch with the institution’s own International Affairs Office for information on internal applications. FDV accepts applications from students from partner institutions up to November 15th for exchange programs to be held in the first semester (February to July) and up to June 15th for exchange programs to be held in the second semester (August to December).

At FDV, the international students do not have any costs with registration or tuition. However, they must pay for additional costs such as housing, food, transportation, etc.

Students from other Institutions

Students from other institutions or from institutions that do not have a mobility program for undergraduate students must get in touch with the FDV International Affairs Center and need to respect the same deadlines as students from partner institutions. The deadlines are up to November 15th for exchange programs to be held in the first semester (February to July) and up to June 15th for exchange programs to be held in the second semester (August to December).

The applicant must be a Law undergraduate student in any international institution accredited by the Government of the country where it belongs. In addition, the applicant must have the consent of his/her University.
